This film highlights the monitoring, management and maintenance service for drinking water infrastructure, delegated by the rural commune of Avaratsena (located in the Analamanga region) to the NGO Soakoja, a not-for-profit organisation.

The services offered are based on several key pillars: structured governance, professional maintenance operations entrusted to the operator Soakoja, citizen participation with the collaboration of a hydraulic agent for infrastructure maintenance and the active involvement of women in quality monitoring via the SMR mechanism, as well as a pricing model integrating the communal fee and the fund dedicated to renewal.

The roles of the various players, as well as the organisation and governance of the service, are described here through the testimonies of the representative of the commune, the Director of the NGO Soakoja, the branch managers, the maintenance agent, the hydraulic agent, as well as the users and their representative.
